The Change Field workflow step is used to change the value in a field. The value can be changed to a predetermined amount or to the value of another field.
Add the Change Field step to a workflow by double-clicking the Change Field workflow step from the Process Control folder.

Once the field is selected a Change Field dialog box is displayed containing two tabs: General and Field.

The General tab is used to provide the below basic information about the workflow step:

Risk & Complexity |
This section contains two drop-downs used to assign the Risk and Complexity of the workflow step. By default three is set for both the risk and complexity. The Risk and Complexity factor are used for reporting purposes.

The Fields tab is used to define the field that is being changed as well as the source of the new value that is being entered in the field.

Select a Field List from the drop-down to determine the fields that are displayed in the Destination box in the grid. The avaliable options in the Fied List are Account, Person and Case. Once the Field List is selected, select the field that is to be updated from the Destination box.
After selecting the destination, determine the Source of the new value by using the radio buttons next to the Field List. The Source options are:

Once the destination and source fields are selected, the message in the middle of the dialog box displays the field path of the destination and source fields. |
The Change Field workflow step is automated and can be used in automated, batch and manual workflows.
