The Merge Accounts page is used to merge the history of one account into another. This includes all workflow, comment, payment, promise and letter history.
 |
Prior to Merging Accounts, ensure that all of the information is correct as this action cannot be undone. |

Merging an Account
- In the Search Accounts section of the Merge Accounts page, click
in the First Account row to open the Framework Search function.
- Search for the first account that is to be merged. Double-click the account to populate it in the First Account field.
 |
Upon accessing the Search window, the Persons radio button is selected by default. Select the Accounts radio button to ensure Merge Accounts functionality works correctly. If Accounts is not selected, the account number does not populate in the Merge Accounts page and an error may be returned when a search result is selected. For more information on the Search function, see the End User Guide. |

- Click
in the Second Account row to open the Framework Search function and search for the second account, using the same method as described in the previous step.
- Once the First and Second Account fields are populated, the Merge Accounts section populates with two options. Read each option carefully and select which account to keep open and merge accounts into and which account to close.

- Click Merge. A confirmation message appears. Click Yes to merge the accounts. Click No to not merge the accounts and return to the Merge Accounts page.

- After clicking Yes, a success message appears showing the accounts were successfully merged.

 |
The Account Merge details appear in the Workflow History screen of the account in which they were merged into. |

 |
- The account merged into the other account is then moved to a Closed status. It is not archived.
- If an account is delinquent and merged into another account, it is closed but the delinquent values are not removed. The account will still fall into queues, reports, etc. unless the criteria contains "Closed Flag = 0," "Delinquent Flag = 1" or the delinquent values are manually removed from the account.
