Administrator Guide > System Management > Custom Labels |
All data fields have standard labels that define the contents of the field. These fields can be re-labeled to better reflect the data being mapped to them or to better serve the unique needs of the financial institution. For example, the Prov/State field can be re-labeled to State for an institution in the United States.

Some fields, such as Current Balance and Due Date, serve very specific functions. Before fields are re-labeled, carefully review the fields function to ensure data is placed into the correct field. |
From System Management, select Collection > Custom Labels from the Customize Group on the Configure tab. A list of Elements fields and their custom labels is displayed, grouped together based on the field type (client field, contact field, or loan field). To switch between viewing client, contact or loan fields, select the desired field type from the Table drop-down.
To create a new Custom Label, from the Table drop-down, select the type of field to customize (Client, Contact or Loan).
From the Field drop-down, select the field to re-label. The fields available change based on the value chosen from the Table drop-down. For example, if Client is selected in the Table drop-down, only client-level fields are available in the Fields drop-down.
When a field is selected (highlighted blue), click Add. A new, editable row appears at the top of the list of fields. Enter the new label of the field in the Custom Label column and click Save. Click Cancel to disregard adding a new custom label.
Click the Edit link next to the desired field to edit.
Edit the Custom Label and click Save.
Click the Delete checkbox of the desired field to delete.
Click Delete. The system reverts back to using the deleted custom label's default label.
Client Flags info (from deleted topic):
The Client Flag is a three-character code used to easily identify an attribute of a client. The seven sytem-defined Client Flags appear at the top of the workspace, however they can be re-labeled by a system administrator in System Management > Custom Labels.
The flags are set manually through Client Maintenance on the workspace or automatically through the download.
