B

Bank
A for-profit financial institution that provides financial services, such as wealth management and currency exchange, to its customers. See also Financial Institution.

Core

This functionality is used to power all of its solutions.

Credit Union
A not-for-profit financial organization that exists to serve its members as a member-owned and cooperative institution. Credit union members can borrow from pooled deposits at reasonable interest rates. See also Financial Institution.

D

DataSafe
This is a Core. Formally known as USERS. Sometimes referenced as Fiserv DataSafe.

Disaster Recovery

A disaster recovery plan (DRP) - sometimes referred to as a business continuity plan (BCP) or business process contingency plan (BPCP) - describes how an organization is to deal with potential disasters. Just as a disaster is an event that makes the continuation of normal functions impossible, a disaster recovery plan consists of the precautions taken so that the effects of a disaster will be minimized and the organization will be able to either maintain or quickly resume mission-critical functions.

Enhancement

An enhancement adds efficiency, functionality, or productivity to an existing feature. It can also include a change to the way data is processed or may impact or change the way a user works in the system.

F

Financial Institution
A generic term for a firm, organization, or company engaged in the business of dealing with monetary transactions, such as deposits and loans. Can be used to refer to credit unions or banks. See also Credit Union and Bank.

Fixed Defect

A fixed defect implies that a correction has been made to a known issue in the product.

High Availability
In information technology, high availability refers to a system or component that is continuously operational for a desirably long length of time. Availability can be measured relative to "100% operational" or "never failing." High availability centers around backup and failover processing and data storage and access. For storage, a redundant array of independent disks (RAID) is one approach or another approach is storage area network (SAN). HA includes clustering, load balancing, and reports scale out.

Hot Fix
A hotfix is a single, cumulative package that includes one or more files that are used to address a problem in a software product. Typically, hotfixes are made to address a specific customer situation and may not be distributed outside the customer organization.

Interest Only with Periodic Principal Payments
A payment type in which the account holder only pays against the interest on a loan, but also makes additional, periodic payments towards the principal balance. When this payment type is selected, the additional principal payment amount, frequency and start date can be calculated to determine the number of additional principal payments, and final principal amount, and include the values in the loan amortization.

New Features
A new piece of functionality added to the product.

Release
Temenos's annual software release provides significant functionality. The deployment of a release is comprehensive and includes all components of the software. When installed, missing/dependent releases will also be installed. Releases are accompanied by Release Notes to describe all the new features, enhancements, and fixed defects for that release.

Release Notes
A series of product releases that are distributed each year that contain a number of new features, enhancements, and fixed defects. They provide detailed information regarding these product changes, how to install them, and how to use them.

Ribbon Bar

The ribbon bar allows users to quickly access major features and functionality via buttons found at the top of Temenos Infinity's user interface.

This is a Core. Formally known as Summit. Sometimes referenced as Spectrum from Fiserv.

Contains many task templates and allows you to group these task templates together.

Temenos Infinity
Temenos’s browser-based relationship management platform, providing common services such as dashboards, views, reports, workflows, business rules, and security with business-specific functionality to create solutions for origination, service, recovery, and profitability.

Update

A software update addresses minor issues or adds minor functionality to the Framework. Updates include all components of the software and will apply all missing/dependedent Releases/Updates. Updates may also be released when necessary for specific customers. Updates are accompanied by a bulletin and Release Notes.
