On the Elements tab, select the System Management button on the toolbar. Under the Elements group on the menu, select Collection then select Returned Check Reason Codes from the Reason/Status Codes Group on the Configure tab. Access to this form is controlled by your Security Profile.
The Returned Reason Code is a four-character code used in defining why a Check was returned. On this page you can create, edit or delete Returned Reason Codes.
Create a Returned Reason Code
- Click New.
- Enter a unique code. Any alphanumeric string with a maximum of four characters can be used. All letters will be saved in upper case.
- Enter a description of the Returned Reason code.
- Leave the Active field checked.
- Click Save.
Edit a Returned Reason Code
- Click Edit next to the Returned Reason Code you want to edit.
- Change the Returned Reason description.
- Click Save.
Delete a Returned Reason Code
- Click the Delete checkbox(es) next to the Returned Reason Code(s) you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
Returned Reason Codes that are linked to existing checks will not be delete - they will be made inactive. Inactive Returned Reason Codes cannot be applied to new checks but will be used, as appropriate, for existing checks.
